As we begin this new school year at ELARA, most – if not all students – can agree that the highlight of the first day was the most recent earthquake that occurred around 3rd period. A 4.4 magnitude shook throughout the school and the surrounding area in East Los Angeles. Soon after evacuating came the final hours of school and students were dismissed after such an eventful day.
Although it was just a few minutes of shaking during the earthquake, students were left with many doubts related to how unexpected this earthquake was and concerned over how unprepared most of them were for it, fearing we can soon be expecting an upcoming and stronger earthquake.
