Protesting ICE and Deportation Raids

On Jan. 7th, 2025, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted raids unannounced in Bakersfield, Kern County. Lead by Jason D. Owens the chief of the U.S. Border Patrol, scattering vehicles with field agents towards Home Depot.

A popular spot where many undocumented field workers spend their mornings eating which marks it as the first attack towards immigrants in California since Trump won the election.

This change of events in Bakersfield has startled everyone, being an attack on immigrant families – an attack towards people who deserve the same respect as all others. Many protests have arisen as a result and many more refuse to work with these unsafe conditions.
