With a fresh approach in place, the school is seeing exciting changes that aim to bring everyone such as students, teachers, and even parents—closer together. A change in leadership often comes with new plans and ways of doing things. This time is no different. There are new rules and expectations being put in place to help improve the school environment. These changes include stricter guidelines about behavior, adjustments to class schedules, and new ideas for how teachers interact with students. While these changes can be hard to get used to at first, they are designed to create a safer, more focused, and more connected environment. The goal is to build a solid foundation where everyone can learn and grow. Although not every change is popular right away, there is a strong commitment to making the school a better place for everyone.
“Ms. Avila seems to be everywhere. It can be bothersome… you can’t really goof off in front of the principal… but her undeniable presence… ensures to us students that our school genuinely cares about our success and well-being.” Some students like that there is more involvement and care about how things are going, but others are still getting used to the style. The last principal, Mr. Buchman, had a more relaxed approach. He gave students and teachers more freedom, which some people liked because it felt comfortable and easy-going. But it also meant there wasn’t always enough structure or direction. Now, there’s a different way of doing things. There is a push to create a more disciplined and focused environment. For example, the new phone ban during school hours is meant to help students focus more on learning and talk to each other face-to-face. While this change has sparked a lot of discussion among students and staff, it shows a serious commitment to creating a positive learning space.
“I understand why they want to ban phones, but I think it’s better if we learn to use them responsibly,” one student shared. The phone ban is just one part of the plan to help students focus better and connect more with each other. Another change that has been made is adjusting the daily schedule. Some students find the longer class periods a bit tough, while others like having fewer transitions between classes. These changes are part of a bigger plan to help the school run more smoothly and encourage students from different grades to interact more and build stronger bonds. “Students of different grades have become far more willing to interact with one another since the new admission.” one student said. The changes brought by this leadership will impact everyone in different ways. As the school moves forward, it’s important for students, teachers, and parents to stay involved and share their thoughts. This way, everyone can work together to make sure the changes help make our school the best it can be. The school community is adjusting to changes in leadership, focusing on building a stronger and more connected future.
