Junior year is one of the most important high school years and all about new experiences and making mistakes. High-school juniors who are really focused on the new school year and are now having a difficult time turning in the middle of the year’s work this causes juniors to go through a pause. This pause is called “Junior Slump”, junior slump is a contagious disease that can be caught by any high school junior. Junior slump happens in the middle of the year when you’re going through midterms, grades, and you yourself trying to figure out how to get through high school without giving up. College can be a hard thing to deal with junior year. Counselors are asking you questions like ‘what college are you thinking of going to?’ “Do you know what you’ll do with your life?” Stressing questions like those can cause you to feel confused about your future with college, you might not know where you want to go or even question college. Its okay and completely normal because everyone is struggling and Juniors who currently need help getting back on track please ask teachers for that extra push and don’t be afraid to talk to your counselors about college either.

“Testing was a big part of my junior year,” said Givran Garnica, a junior at ELARA. Testing will be a big part of junior year because it’s the most important year. It matters because of the amount of testing you’ll be doing, this testing will debate your scores and show if you’re eligible for college. The average junior year experience is supposed to be fun, but it isn’t for most. Most juniors have the most trouble in the middle of the year, where you’re almost done but you still have that big step ahead of you, it being grades are due, you’re stuck and you don’t know what to do. Furthermore, asking for help such as an4 extension for late work, going to office hours, and being on track to graduate. How do you tell if you’re on track to graduate? You can tell by having at least a 2.0 GPA to get into college.
“I’m really excited to start junior year. It’s a fresh new start and I can’t wait to experience new things” said Ashley Orellana, junior at ELARA. Junior year is all about new experiences and making mistakes. One of the biggest mistakes Julie made her sophomore year was not turning in work on time. Starting off sophomore year she had a habit of not turning in work and leaving it till last minute, which was a pretty bad habit if she wanted to pass. Junior year is where she has to switch it up and be a better student if she wants to pass and stay on track to graduate. For junior year this year all juniors should take all advice from seniors or teachers to pass for the better and to make it to college.
