On Sep. 10, 2023, a man was shot and accused of an armed robbery on South Atlanta Boulevard. The street was blocked for nearly 10 hours. A man recorded a video of the incident and in the video, you can see the moments after the sheriff’s deputy shot the man. A citizen named Dionicio Cochajl states, ”To be honest I didn’t notice, I was just washing my car when I heard the shooting, my instinct was to run over there and I saw someone lying down. That’s when I started recording.” The deputies rescinded at 1:15 p.m. about a man threatening with a gun at the gas station. The armed man assaulted a person with a gun. The people gave the description to the deputies and were able to identify him and assure him on 4th street. The armed man ran from the cops and revealed his weapon and that’s when they shot him. It happened really quickly and citizens heard 4 to 5 shots. All the deputies and the citizens were not injured. This is important to our community because the police are on high alert to the dangers of the community. This assures us that the community is being helped and safe by keeping the bad away or stopping it. It matters to the community because the dangerous people are being captured quickly by the police and keeping the community safe.
